A Sneak Peek into our upcoming 3-Song EP, “Out of Darkness & Finding the Light”
I bring you an exciting announcement - Our 3-song EP, “Out of Darkness & Finding the Light” is currently in production and will be released very soon.
Wow, it is so hard to believe that 2025 is quickly winding down to close to three-quarters of the year will have passed. Where did the time go? Lois Mahalia (@loismahaliamusic) and I have worked tirelessly to create and bring to the masses our 3-Song EP (EP=Electronic Press) which will be the culmination of a goal set forth due to the untimely death of my son, November 17, 2021.
Divine timing means everything to Lois and me. We always want to work with spirit and recognize that synchronicity is an integral part of ensuring that timing is exactly as it should be. We believe the music we are creating has the power to heal. Our current reality bears witness to individuals across all walks of life are in turmoil and suffering. Music heals and there is no greater gift to bring to humankind than the gift of music that comes from the heart. Here is the CD cover.

Here are the details of the three songs to be included on the EP:
Song #1 - “Love Essentials”
Love Essentials was inspired by two short pieces titled #789 and #139, written by Dustin Lee Laun for MoreLoveToday.org (website now defunct). Following is the content from #789 and #139:
#789 by Dustin Lee Laun
“I love meeting people where I don't feel this overwhelming sense to get to know them... because I already like who they are. I don't need to find something that I like or respect, I just appreciate their existence. Whether or not I'm in their world, I'm happy they are in the world.
These are my favorite people. My favorite relationships. And I must trust that there are more of these types of people in the world; these are the strangers I pass every day. These are the happy faces singing in the car next to me at the stop light. This is the future heart of the children crying on the airplane.
This is often who I meet when I travel...which is why I don't feel the need to stay in touch with every single face I'm lucky enough to meet. I just appreciate you, who you are, what you provide. I don't need to be a prominent figure in that path: you've got this. Thank you for you.”
#139 by Dustin Lee Laun
“Surrounding objects bear witness to our lives and interactions, taking small bits of environment, language, and stories and housing them for eternity. Maybe the material does not release these moments to the outside eye, maybe they are forever embodied not to be shared with random passerby's but only those who hold insight to the memory. Therefore, the objects stand as reminders that these stories exist. They house history, known or unknown. But unknown history is just as important as known; we need remember that life has happened, is happening, and will continue to happen after we are gone.
It is this thought that reminds me of the importance of awareness; aware that you are not the only existence. You are not the only one making memories, telling stories, feeling love, hate, happiness; everyone around you is doing the exact same thing in their own personal and important way. Their stories are just as important as yours, no more or less. Their hopes, dreams, destinations, and emotions are all are relevant and REAL as your own. I am reminded this when I browse through an antique store; the family dinners that were had on the old oak table (just as important as my own childhood dinners) the pure joy that a stranger felt wrapped under the faded and stained quilt when they felt safe, warm, and loved in bed after a long day, the shirt that soaked up a stranger’s tears as they wept, overwhelmed with sorrow. The same sorrow that you have once felt.
And maybe, just maybe if more people recognized the reality of a stranger’s existence, they would recognize just how small we truly are…small, but essential. Each life just as essential as the next. If more people recognized the power of this nature, of this type of mindset, the world would have more respect, understanding, and joy. From the smallest of moments, like giving a stranger a smile, to the big moments, like accepting cultures and beliefs different than our own, because we understand that those around us feel as strongly about their choices as we do ours.”
Song #2 – “Finding 2nd Gear”
Finding 2nd Gear was originally released in early 2025 as a labor of love for Lois and I which honors and recognizes one man’s belief that when you work and guide others, you must allow them to fly and be the best they can be, or you diminish the light within their soul.
Finding 2nd Gear was also inspired by an article written by Dustin Lee Laun (on Medium, May 28, 2016), titled “The Day I Found 2nd Gear!” https://medium.com/@mobohubb/the-day-i-found-2nd-gear-4b16ac30bf51
The cool thing about this song is it is being fully remastered, and you will be hearing it for the first time in this format on our upcoming album. We are very excited for you to hear the remastered version.
Song #3 – “To Live Again”
Finally, the last song featured on our album is To Live Again. One day after the death of my son, November 18, 2021, I sat down on the floor and began to pour my heart out on paper with the writing of a piece titled ‘Love and Death Entwined’, which was #389 (as published on the MoreLoveToday.org site and became the inspiration for this song). Sadly, because the MoreLove site is no longer active, I am publishing my #389 below so you will be able to understand my anguish as I tried to make sense of his untimely death in prose and then again in lyrics. Following is the content of #389:
#389 / Love and Death Entwined by Linda Carol Algozzini (November 18, 2021)
“Recent event(s) have caused an inner look to the depths of my soul of how unique a mother’s love for a child regardless of age when their essence leaves this earthly dimension. Thoughts begin to bubble and surface within the unconscious mind until they begin to intrude on conscious awareness. The need to connect in a meaningful way soul-to-soul begins to take over so one can begin to make sense of the present reality.
Grappling with loss on any level is so deeply personal that it holds one in profound isolation as others cannot breach the solitude of grief. Grief has no guide nor knows no protocol for reaching completion.
The heart wants what the heart wants, yet in this reality it will be denied. One must allow the heart to feel the loss of one-dimensional connection and move into the universal dimension of only love; where love is all encompassing and fills the cosmos with perpetual peace. This is daunting when your physical body has experienced a trauma that yet can be named.
Death does not transcend love, but redefines how love will be felt, communicated, and exchanged between mother and child. Whispers on a breeze, a knowing/sensing where a mother feels the presence of the child’s soul, a sound that resonates forcing the mother’s heart to beat an alternate rhythm, or memories that appear at moments in time.
Healing only begins when we who are left behind move toward loving ourselves and allowing that perfect love to transcend space and time connecting with our child’s soul. We must believe with certain clarity that everything is as it was meant to be, and that love brings freedom and freedom brings everlasting peace regardless of the dimension where we currently reside.”
My hope is that each of the songs will support others who may be experiencing their own grief, loss, trauma, heartfelt hurt or love, may find comfort in listening to the songs with an open mind and know they come from a deep well of timeless love.
Stay tuned and follow future posts here, as well as on Facebook and Instagram, as we bring you along for the ride from now until the EP’s launch in mid-to-late September 2025.
Hugs and Love, Linda
